Help Haiti

The Rezidor Hotel Group has a long history of Responsible Business and giving back to the community and works throughout the year with its charity partner organisation, World Childhood Foundation. The catastrophic earthquake in Haiti on Tuesday January 12th has affected millions of people, many of them children, leaving them injured and homeless and we would like to play our part. As World Childhood Foundation does not work with emergency relief, moreover their support is directed to projects striving to prevent violence and abuse of children and youth in 15 countries, we have chosen to work with International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at this time. We have donated to this worthy organisation and we would invite you to join us donating by clicking on the link below.

The ICRC, which was already present and active in Haiti before Tuesday's earthquake, focuses on improving access to water and sanitation in violence-prone shantytowns in Port-au-Prince, visiting detainees and supporting the capacity of the Haitian Red Cross. They have assisted in the setting up of first-aid posts in various makeshift camps around the city which are expected to provide basic care for thousands of patients. Hundreds of blankets and plastic sheets had also been distributed to those who now find themselves homeless. In addition ICRC is providing support in the areas of forensics, tracing, nursing, communications and logistics and will remain active in Haiti once the emergency phase is over.
